My commitment to creating art has been a life-long adventure. I began as a painter/printmaker turned weaver and fiber artist. And while my education in ceramic is traditional, this broad base of experience in other media informs my work. I feel free to manipulate and decorate clay based on my needs rather than a preconceived notion of how clay should look.

Do you remember when, as a child, you had a first experience with clay, pushing leaves and grasses into the surface to create an image? I never got over that discovery. All these years later, having put aside my canvas and shuttles, I continue to explore the possibilities created when object meets wet clay. Nature is, as always, a predominate theme.
