Wildlife
is our heritage and I hope that my art can draw attention to
conserving wildlife and their habitats.
Being
a wildlife artist I enjoy detail in my art. I also feel the
composition of a piece is what draws you in. By using Prismacolor
pencil I blend it until it becomes a "painting" as
permanent as acrylic. I enjoy teaching this technique.
As
a national wildlife artist, I was a co-founder of the Southern
Association of Habitat Artists, worked with Cypress Gardens
on endangered species, became a Ducks Unlimited artist of the
year for the state of Florida, and published four years of
calendars for the First Florida Bank of Tampa in cooperation
with the Southwest Florida Water Management District. This
gave me the opportunity to do television documentaries and
to work with the Chinese delegation delivering a pair of pandas
to Busch Gardens. |
